US Studies find Canadian Invention most Helpful.

Attention: Business & New Product Editors

The University of Massachusetts Boston has just completed a study exploring low-tech vehicle modifications to help older drivers alleviate or eliminate problems with driving due to functional deficits that normally occur from aging. The study found the Canadian invention Handybar® to be one of the best product solutions for vehicle access. Additionally, the highly respected Arthritis Advisor Newsletter produced by the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio studied the Handybar® and found it to be the easiest and most helpful new product to aid drivers with Arthritis.

The Handybar® is a patented, award winning, invention which can provide independence for millions of users daily and may aid in saving lives. It is a portable support handle that helps people with a permanent or temporary mobility challenge get in and out of today’s lower cars and higher SUV’s with confidence, dignity and ease. It has been designed with a universal fit which requires no costly installation or modification to your vehicle, working on both driver and passenger side doors by locking into the existing “U” shaped striker which is the piece of hardware found on vehicles to keep the door firmly closed. The Handybar® is only 9” long, weighs less than 1 lb, yet strong enough to support over 350 pounds of weight. The Handybar® can be stowed in the door pocket, glove box or centre console for easy access.

The Handybar® is ideal for seniors, people with arthritis, back and knee problems, those who are recovering from surgery and sports injuries, pregnant women or anyone that would like an occasional helping hand in and out of their vehicles after a long journey. The Handybar® is also for those wanting added security of a high quality escape aid in their vehicle. The Handybar® is equipped with an integrated side window breaker and recessed seatbelt cutter that could prove invaluable in the event of an accident. The Handybar® is available at a variety of retailers across Canada and the USA.
